Effective problem solvers make it look so easy, they seem to be born with a natural knack of finding and implementing the best solution. However, the truth is that problem solving is a skill that can be learned.

Solving problems the "KALM" way teaches a systematic approach to solving problems. Learners who complete the program will feel more confident in their approach to real-life problems with a structured and methodical process from which to work.

Furthermore, the course uses a holistic view of what is required to make one a truly effective problem solver by examining the importance of one's own attitude and emotional intelligence.

The course is interspersed with practical examples and exercises to test the learner's understanding of the concepts.

A final problem-solving exercise takes learners through the various stages and steps of the problem-solving cycle. On completion of the exercise the learner should be able to implement an action plan within the organisation.

This course is aligned to Unit Standard 114952. NQF Level 3 with 2 credits.
